Les Deux Salons is nothing if not a handsome place with soft lighting, dark wood panelling and brass fittings. The upper level has the benefit of the spherical chandeliers forming a dramatic centre piece in the middle of the room. Service was quick and efficient on all four of my visits...

We have noticed this place pop up earlier in the year and on later inspection, saw that is was the sister of sophisticated British restaurants Wild Honey and Artubus so we suggested to visit with friend. Les Deux Salon as the name implies is French so steers away from the British fusion of the other sister restaurants and instead moves to a more casual Parisian style Brasserie.Les Deux Salon is on a side street just off the Strand so is a great meeting location. Les Deux Salons is one of those restaurants that are very decent. It does not boast heart-stopping food, the service is so and so but overall the experience is good – if a little bit on the expensive side.Apparently it is the third venture from Michelin–starred duo Anthony Demetre and Will Smith – which to me doesn’t mean a lot but I’m adding it to the post just in case anyone is impressed by the names rather than the actual venue and food.You will find it just off Trafalgar Square and I have to say that it is a space that’s very well done. Standing tall and proud in hectic William IV Street between Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden is Les Deux Salons. The two floor Brasserie, unlike its sister restaurants, offers two attractive private dining rooms, open spaces available any day of the week for business meetings, family gatherings, informal lunches or afternoon teas. Fitted with original oak panelling throughout, the rooms offer a simple yet sophisticated style suitable for any occasion. The private rooms offer flexibility in terms of party size, the smaller room can seat a maximum of 10 guests, whereas the larger room can accommodate a maximum of 24. Keep the door open, and you can remain part of the bustle of the main restaurant, but closed, you can retreat away from the noise and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere that the rooms offer.

Barry has been cooking in some of London’s finest kitchens for over 20 years. Accumulating awards, accolades, press acclaim and a Michelin Star.
He began his career at The Dorchester Hotel, then went on to work at Chapter One Restaurant. He then went to work at LOdeon Restaurant as Sous-Chef under the guidance of Anthony Demetre before moving with Anthony Demetre to Putney Bridge Restaurant as Snr Sous-Chef, where it was to gain a Michelin Star within its first year of opening.
He then took on the position of Snr Sous Chef with John Burton-race at his 2 Michelin Star Restaurant John Burton-Race at The Landmark.
He then took on his first Head Chef position at McClements Restaurant where he made a huge impression with guides, critics and dinners achieving a Michelin Star, 3 AA rosettes, 7/10 in the Good Food Guide all within a year of being at the helm.
He was then appointed Executive Head Chef at The Threadneedles Hotel, overseeing all food concepts within one of ‘The Square miles’ Top 5 star boutique hotels and making Bonds Restaurant and Bar the City’s Top dinning destination with huge critical acclaim from critics and dinners for his style of ‘modern contemporary cuisine’
After a short stint in Nairobi as Executive Chef where he opened Hemingways Nairobi a 5* luxury Boutique Hotel in Nairobi Kenya. He is now back in London with Prescott & Conran at Les Deux Salons.
