Despite problems and delays, Asia Pacific’s Shangri-La group has successfully launched London’s first ‘elevated’ luxury hotel. Occupying levels 34 to 52 of the iconic Shard, the vast complex
comprises three river-facing event rooms, an infinity pool and a 24-hour gym, plus a destination bar and several eateries including Láng – a gourmet deli and coffee shop on Level 34 (the hotel’s
‘ground floor’). Star turns are Shangri-La’s renowned signature cakes, patisserie and homemade chocolates laid out on marble, wooden and glass displays, although visitors can also avail themselves
of freshly prepared seasonal hampers, classic savouries and sandwiches (to eat in or take away). There's also a range of unusual beverages to go with your chosen morsels.
