Square Meal Review of Kateh Knightsbridge ?

Persians consider their cuisine the pinnacle of Middle Eastern cooking, and well they might, with its blend of gentle spices, fresh ingredients and the sophisticated addition of fruits and vegetables in a mix of rich stews and grilled meats. The latest Persian offering on the fashionable restaurant circuit is Kateh, younger brother of the restaurant of the same name in Maida Vale, and as such a place that has every likelihood of being up to the mark. Start with octopus with capers and warm new potatoes as a starter, followed with venison with rocket and pomegranate salad or kabab torsch – lamb with pomegranate, fresh grapes, walnuts and mint, with jeweled rice. They've a Persian bread oven on site, too, so make sure you try their homemade taftoon breads. It’s an odd, tucked away site, which makes an intimate setting, but there’s a useful private room tucked upstairs.
