This elegant Italian is a favourite with Holland Park residents, who now include the Beckhams and Robbie Williams. It’s a long slim room on two levels, in shades of cream with chic red accents, plus four pavement tables. Some 90% of diners are regulars, drawn by easy-going all-day opening, friendly staff and traditional cooking from regional Italy with a strong focus on Sardinia. Authentic ingredients include burrata and mozzarella, sea urchins and bottarga, and truffles. Fresh tuna carpaccio is a highlight, but our choice would be the homemade fregola (a sort of Sardinian couscous), served with prawns, langoustines and cherry tomatoes. In addition, you’ll find familiar dishes of fritto misto, grilled fish, calf’s liver with sage, and veal escalope with lemon sauce. Popular general manager Roberto Pisano’s wine list incorporates top labels as well as bottles for good-value everyday drinking.
