Opened in 2005, this outpost of the Daylesford organic empire is at the very heart of Sloane country, & it seeks to pander to those who like their food with certified green credentials. The
interior looks almost as pristine as a medical lab with shelves of bottles & jars, plus chunky wooden chairs, a communal table, & blown-up foodie photos on the walls. Much of the produce is
from Lady Bamford’s estates in Gloucestershire & Staffordshire, & the short seasonal menu delivers artisan breads, virtuously healthy salads, pastries, cheeses & cooked offerings along
the lines of mushroom risotto, a daily casserole with grilled root vegetables, & Cornish crab with radish, carrot, green ginger & chilli. To drink, worthy souls will probably insist on
cleansing juices & detox cocktails or Chinese teas; others might simply quaff a few glasses of Laurent Perrier rosé.
