COTTONS EXMOUTH MARKET HAS CLOSED PERMANENTLY AND BEEN REPLACED BY COIN LAUNDRY
Suitably laid-back, but lively with it, this offshoot of Camden’s Caribbean favourite is housed in an imposing corner building at one end of Exmouth Market. Breakfast and cut-price, one-dish
lunches suit local workers on the go, while the full menu offers whopping portions of the classics – from spiced chicken soup with green banana, goat curry and a mammoth jerk mixed grill to more
flashy items such as coconut-crusted whole red bream infused with vanilla and star anise, plus sides of rice and peas, plantain and callaloo. Decorative window shutters, brass chandeliers and fancy
mirrors add some British colonial swank to the ground-floor dining room, while the basement Rum Jungle bar promises a vast list of rums and cocktails, plus live music. The reggae punch, made with
super-strong Wray & Nephew rum, will apparently get you singing like Bob Marley.
