ilovecakeandtea :: Burger and Lobster, Dean Street, London

For me lobster was always seen as a luxury food, unaffordable and not something I would attempt to cook. So when I heard you could get lobster, fries and salad for £20 I was gob smacked. Despite the no reservations under 6 people policy I managed to blag (beg) a reservation for lunch...

  1. It’d be easy to dismiss Burger and Shake as a mere imitator of Burger and Lobster. Both serve burgers and lobster rolls, but the two do have their differences. Whereas Burger and Lobster is a spin-off chain of the Goodmans steak empire, Burger and Shake is an independent. The Mayfair and Soho branches of Burger and Lobster have a rather dark, clubby feel to them whereas Burger and Shake has a lighter, more diner-like feel to the place. More substantively, Burger and Shake also has other items on the menu such as hot dogs and hot wings...

  1. Burger. Burger. Burger. Burger. Lobster. Burger.

The people behind Goodman (check out my review of the Goodman burger, which currently sits in my Top 10 London Burgers), have given London the Burger & Lobster franchise.
20 quid's worth of Burger at Burger & Lobster
So, does the Burger & Lobster Burger stand up in its own right, or even up to the Goodman burger? For context in the 'Over £20' category for burger and chips we currently have the dire and terrible Gaucho Burger ...let's find out how B&L fares.

Fd Over LDN :: Burger & Lobster - No Alarms and No Surprises

Well, you couldn't accuse this one of false advertising. Featuring a minimalistic menu consisting simply of burger and lobster (either whole or as a roll), the Dean Street branch is the second of the two B&L restaurants opened by the team behind the eponymous Goodman in Mayfair. Goodman is famous for boasting some of the best steaks and burgers here, but we were particularly intrigued here by the prospect of £20 lobster...

  1. Burgers & lobsters have becoming increasing popular over the years. Since it’s debut with the Mayfair branch there has been 3 new additions. Launched by the team behind goodman’s steak. I heard the tales of the 2-hour queue wait and was prepared for the worst...

ytTastes :: Burger & Lobster Soho

Seems like everyone has been talking about this place, Burger & Lobster, even as far as Singapore, and all I hear is that people would queue for ages, over an hour, just to get into this place. So I had made a mental check to try this place but when I did, it wasn’t quite how I had planned to try it.

It happened when I was running an errand through Soho, I was rushing through an alley and popped out onto Dean Street just in front of Burger and Lobster Soho, it took me by surprise but I did remember registering… “So this is the famous Burger & Lobster I had heard so much about” then the next thing that occurred...

Nomface :: Burger & Lobster, London

The popularity of Burger & Lobster shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon, with huge queues most nights and soon to open its fifth restaurant within Harvey Nichols this London juggernaut brings lobster to the masses, and burgers but we’re not interested in them as it’s all about the lobster. I have been to the Soho branch a couple of times during weeknights with at least an hour wait each time. Being an avid fan of lobster the menu is short and simple either a steamed or grilled lobster with fries and salad or lobster roll/burger and the same for £20 each (plus service charge). Apart from the cooking method...

#fatmY :: burger & lobster (plus haagen dazs)

happy birthday wing! we went out for dinner a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our friend wing’s birthday. one of our favourite places to eat at is burger & lobster in their soho branch. there’s always a wait for a table but luckily for us, as we were a group of six, we were able to make a reservation.
there’s no food menu, only drinks. why? because they only have three dishes on offer; 1. beef burger, 2. lobster (either steamed or grilled, your choice) and 3. lobster roll (mY fave!). all are priced at £20 and comes with a side salad, fries and butter sauce (go for the smelly garlic butter sauce!). not a bad...

great diner in soho. so there was massive hype about this restaurant that opened in mayfair with only three dishes, all going for £20. I’m usually of the opinion that the fewer dishes a place has, the more likely they are to be good – so this was not a bad start. also there have been a gazillion reviews out there in the blogosphere about b&l, so I was pumped to get going when their new soho branch opened. the soho branch is located on dean street, an amazing foodie lane with vaunted new restaurants like cay tre and ducksoup and many more, so that’s a competitive place to have a restaurant – also a very smart move...

wetrykai :: Burger and Lobster - Decisions, decisions…

Call me lazy but I’d be a happier man if I was presented with a multi-choice questionnaire for decisions I had to make on a daily basis. That way, I can spend less time on trivial subjects such as shirt/tie combos and turn my attention to big issues such as how to solve the recession and, more importantly, what to have for my next meal. Unfortunately, it’s not all quite that easy but Burger and Lobster are sure doing their best to keep things as simple as possible...

  1. The truth is I love burger and lobster. Namely the lobster. And perhaps it just feels too indulgent on a Tuesday lunchtime to say "I want to go eat a lobster for lunch,"whereas, "I have to get that review of Burger and Lobster done" sounds better. But at £20 for a whole lobster, this is the best value not-so-little crustacean you are going to get pretty much anywhere...

A Table For Two :: Burger & Lobster

Demand for Burger & Lobster still hasn’t dropped and for good reason too. With three branches under its belt across London already, it sure looks like business is going well for this casual dining joint. We arrived to the Soho branch on a Thursday night around 9pm for a late dinner and were still told there was an hour wait or if we were lucky we could grab a space at the bar, which we ended up doing. From the outside, B&L looks deceivingly small, but inside is a whole different story...

  1. Ah burger and lobster. When I get a craving for lobster, this is my go-to restaurant. I’ve been here on dates, with friends, with family and everyone seems to like it. Even my dad was impressed and he’s a hard nut to crack. There are only three options on the menu: Grilled/steamed lobster, burger or lobster roll. All with fries and salad for £20. A gloriously simple menu. That said, it doesn’t matter since I always pick the lobster anyway (it’s the whole reason I’m there). I’ve tried the beef burger (best friend and I went halves once) which was nice but not as good as the lobster. Apart from the standard menu, there’s...
