What was once the imperial Hotel Victoria has been sympathetically restored to its former glory and recast as Boyds, a classy all-rounder that is currently staking its claim as a serious contender at the bottom of Trafalgar
Square. The opulent, marble-clad Brasserie makes a rather grand setting for meals beneath sculpted ceilings and glittering chandeliers, and the venue has now upped its offer with an extended
version of afternoon tea. ‘Savoury sensations’ such as potted shrimps and sandwiches filled with, say, salt beef, pickled cucumber and Dijon mustard sit alongside traditional scones and assorted
‘sweeties’ – perhaps mini chocolate éclairs, strawberry tarts and lemon drizzle cake. Teas are from Twinings and you can round off with a vanilla ice cream cone. Expect to pay £19.90, or £29.90
with a glass of Veuve Clicquot Champagne. Booking recommended.
Boyd’s Brasserie is glam.Just a short skip from Trafalgar Square, it’s nestled in 8 Northumberland Avenue Hotel.I can’t comment on the hotel itself, but the restaurant is opulent and inviting. A grand bar, high ceilings, glittering chandeliers and marble walls. Earlier this week I was kindly invited to my first ever Square Meal Bloggers event. The lovely folk at Boyds Brasserie invited us to sample their newly launched afternoon tea experience in their Bar & Lounge. Not only was I super thrilled to taste the new menu, but being new to the world of food blogging I was dying to meet more established food bloggers and had a million questions to ask. Boyds Brasserie is located a short stroll from Trafalgar Square. When I arrived (extremely flustered and hot and sticky from a packed tube) I was greeted with warm smiley faces & promptly handed a champagne glass of Ruinart...

Welcome back to another afternoon tea post from Tea With Me and Friends, this week I was very lucky to be invited to the afternoon tea launch at Boyds Brasserie in London. I was a guest of both Boyds and Square Meals, along with a group of lovely food bloggers.I had seen a photo of the new afternoon tea which launched on the 7th July and was keen to try it out for myself.....Not your usual afternoon tea venue, Boyds is a restaurant located a very short stroll from Trafalgar Square on Northumberland Avenue. Boyds is very proud of it's British menu, sourcing everything from within Great Britain....
