Square Meal Review of Bob Bob Ricard ?

A drop-dead gorgeous original like Bob Bob Ricard only comes along once in a blue moon – so our advice is to lap it up. The decadent all-booth dining room is a real dazzler with its polished marble, gleaming mirrors and tasselled drapes – no wonder first-timers are easily seduced, pressing the ‘Champagne button’ (there’s one at every table) while contemplating pots of caviar. Luxury is the order of the day on the free-roaming, comfort-inducing Anglo-Russian menu: the truffle treatment is applied to everything from potato and porcini vareniki (dumplings) to chicken and mushroom pie (“the best ever”), while lobster appears frequently, from pelmeni, to a burger and swanky mac ’n’ cheese. All that opulent indulgence doesn’t come cheap however, but there are bargains galore on the wine list – not forgetting “exquisite cocktails” and lethal ‘-18 degree’ shots of vodka.

Munch My Way :: Bob Bob Ricard

I’ve heard from many friends and food bloggers about this restaurant, Bob Bob Ricard.. Located right next to Carnaby Shopping St, serves a delicious selection of brasserie classics..

Due to the good time I had with the food and company.. I forgot to take the interior and restaurant window.. Oh well, just the food looks good enough!...

Ross eats :: Bob Bob Ricard

Luxury; a word that used alongside a restaurant musters up visions of bankers splurging their monthly bonus up the wall, of people needlessly spending high prices on ‘rustic’ food, or, as it generally is for me the kind of place I take myself for the occasional pick me up, or for a reward for getting through a tough time. Their websites says that the ‘Bob Bob Ricard Menu offers luxury English and Russian classics’ and along the way I found it also provides a number of delightful quirks and, most important of all, some damn good plates of food...

vialaporte :: Bob Bob Ricard // Soho // London

As you enter Bob Bob Ricard, you might feel like you’ve just entered Restaurant Prunier in Paris. Walking through the lobby, lavishly decorated with black marble, smooth brass, gold and shininess everywhere, waiters will take you to your table where you’ll be sat at some of the most beautiful booth banquettes in London, where you discover BBR’s now infamous Champagne buttons. Turquoise and pale pink, the colour scheme is in complete harmony...

A Table For Two :: Bob Bob Ricard

Open for lunch all the way to late dinner, Bob Bob Ricard is definitely a place to keep in mind if you’re looking to indulge, impress or just treat yourself at any time of the day. Do book ahead as weekends are particularly busy, however if you’re planning to snoop the place up before handing over your credit card, drop by Bobby’s Bar downstairs. Grab your suit jacket and high heels and enjoy a nightcap in style...

Clandestine London :: Bob Bob Ricard, Golden Square

Alabama was excited about this one. She’d been here before and she knew I’d like it. She wasn’t wrong.

Located near a corner of Golden Square in London’s agency land, Bob Bob Ricard is a calmly lit art-deco restaurant with a stylish basement bar complete with plush intimate booths to conceal covert activity. Based on a 1920s train carriage design...

    #fatmY :: bob bob ricard

for mY 27th birthday i decided to whet mY appetite at someplace i’ve never been to before. currently unemployed and “broke as a joke” (read happy birthday to me), what better excuse to blow some cash ey?
tucked away in soho just past golden square lies a restaurant serving an all english and russian menu called bob bob ricard. it’s a luxury restaurant set in an extravagant all-booth dining room giving you the vip treatment. so, if you’re looking to impress whether it’d be a date or a client meeting, this place won’t disappoint. they even had a button you could press for more champagne! the five of us should be...

  1. After a matinee in the west end, a group of us decided a cocktail was in order before dinner. The west end is not somewhere I would choose to drink cocktails, too many places serve expensive premixed drinks in a crowded noisy environment. BBR I had been assured would not be like this. The entrance on the side of Beak street is reasonably unassuming, it is once the door is opened that the opulence and pretentiousness take over. A gaggle of waiter, receptionists and coat handlers meet you with the eponymous words ‘Do you have a reservation?’ it was 6 oclock and the place was pretty empty. After a quick look at the...

  1. Organising this years couples dinner the pressure was on. Miss G used her membership and got us into the lovely Soho House last year and I decided to take up the role for 2013... I wanted somewhere we wouldn't easily think of going, somewhere a little bit random and somewhere definitely a little bit special...

'Press for Champagne' in each of the dining booths is all I knew of Bob Bob Ricard before my visit last week and what a great 'thing' to be known by. It immediately ooozes fun and glamour with only three small words and a button press away a waiter whisks over to your attention to take drinks orders......

  1. After Hawksmoor, Bob Bob Ricard was a restaurant I had been wanting to visit for such a long time. And I mean really long, like two years long. Having been a regular in Bobby’s Bar for pre or post-dinner drinks at other establishments, I’d eye up the Russian/English combo menu and sigh.

Bobby’s Bar became one of my favourite places in London, scratch that, anywhere. A place that I would bring loved ones and continually recommend to others. The most stunning space, think opulent Orient Express with a slight American diner feel. Dripping in brass, with marble and wood panelling, a red theme for downstairs and...

  1. Bob Bob Ricard, so good they named it twice! Actually ‘Bob’ is the nickname of the Russian owner who owns two thirds of the business, hence the second Bob and Ricard is taken from the other owner’s name, Richard Howarth. It has been on my bucket list from day one of the blog. I have had drinks there before, a long time ago and I decided that instead of following the rest of the crowd on a January detox, I would spoil myself. What better way to start the new year than with total self-indulgence and I couldn’t think of a better place to do it. The healthy eating can wait….

The restaurant is styled on the Orient...

  1. Bob Bob Ricard! Now BBR has been voted one of the 30 most Instragrammed Restaurants, and rather like a reality TV star the 'Press For Champage' button has got rather over-exposed on social media. Now, I have to admit, this put me off going a bit, but it shouldn't have. Bob Bob Ricard is one of the most beautiful and fabulously glam restaurants in London. The restaurant is all booths which makes for an intimate dining experience and gives the feeling of being on the Orient Express...

  1. I have tried to book a table at Bob Bob Ricard many-a-time since first hearing about the infamous ‘Press for Champagne’ button positioned at every table. Yes, EVERY table. But, funnily enough, most people (/women) appeared to have the same brilliant idea, which meant that tables were only ever available at most inconvenient dining times, despite trying to book months in advance. Enter Lauren Hudson, an absolute gem of a person & blogger, who managed to snag us a table at 6pm last Saturday. My elation at finally visiting the venue that pours more champagne than any other restaurant in the UK, and at last meeting this...

  1. A couple of weekends ago I had the pleasure of finally meeting the lovely Andrea, from Andrea's Passions, for a very special dinner at Bob Bob Ricard - the home the famous Press for Champagne button. Anyone familiar with the restaurant will know that it can be very difficult to get a reservation at BBR, and so when we discovered that there was a 6pm seating we jumped at the chance!

Well, when you're at Bob Bob, there's only one thing to do as soon as you sit down: Press For Champagne!...

  1. I have always been a lover of social media and back in the days of MySpace, Bebo, Faceparty (we’re not even going to mention Habbo Hotel), the journey of social media has been a huge part of growing-up on the internet. Gone are the days where social media lingered only in your home but now it’s well-encompassed into our everyday lives, wherever you may be.

My new love affair is with Instagram, which has led to obsessing over beautiful imagery and also attempting to create that perfect messy-but-not-really picture. Bob Bob Ricard has to be one of the most Instagrammed restaurants in London and there’s a few...
