Bia Bistrot has earned a solid reputation for its cooking and the quality of its produce, thanks to chef/patrons Matthias and Roisin Llorente. A distressed wooden floor, wooden tables and the odd
pew contribute to the relaxed mood, while the food shows an eye for value as well as detail. A popular lunch/pre-theatre menu does the business, while the seasonal carte offers a selection of
accessible, Euro-accented dishes ranging from lobster bisque with salmon tortellini to venison haunch with red cabbage and potato gratin or olive-crusted hake fillet with spinach. Orkney steaks
also go down well, and desserts keep it simple with the likes of hazelnut chocolate brownie or crêpes with caramelised apples. The wine list is short and functional; alternatively there are some
fine bottled beers and ciders from the region – perhaps Archerfield Dark Ale or Elixir Conviction IPA.
