Will the queen of the fairies reign supreme over this cosmetic re-boot of a tricky site that has seen off various ventures including Geisha, Piano and, latterly, Longshots? Could a random mix of old-hat floral patterned wallpaper, odd furnishings and a gauche mural of Titania herself peering into space be a winner in the style stakes? Perhaps house wine from £16.95, Ayala Champagne at £45 and beer at under £4 a pint will pull in the desired mixed/gay crowd; otherwise, the bar’s temptations don’t stretch much further than a pedestrian cocktail list (mojito, caipirinha and cosmopolitan at £6.95, for example) and a covered patio with relaxed seating and plants overlooking traffic-clogged Charing Cross Road. Upstairs is a (deserted) lounge with a showcase table displaying copies of Boyz and Pride magazine, which you can peruse while waiting for Titania's followers to flock in.
