Three5’s former incarnation – a flowery pink bar celebrating all things girly – has been given a more unisex set of assets with which to woo Chelsea diners. Leather chairs, colourful bookcases and
accents of orange and green replace the lurid-pink throw cushions and snow-white pouffes of old, creating a more muted and grown-up effect – though perhaps less fun. The kitchen has also reasserted
itself, turning its attention away from health juices and salads towards in-vogue small plates. ‘World tapas’ is the order of the day – a menu of ‘bites’ mixes Mediterranean and pan-Asian
favourites, from arancini with saffron sauce or Spanish croquetas to soy and saké-marinated chicken skewers or Cajun-coated tuna. It’s hardly groundbreaking stuff, but these bankable plates are
likely to be gobbled down by gaggles of young Chelsea-ites and grateful tourists.
