Now owned by the Capital Pub Company, this friendly Peckham boozer is due to close at the end of September for a major refurb, reopening in 2012 with a bigger kitchen, conservatory extension,
landscaped garden & upstairs function room. Until then, the managers have teamed up with cult burger makers, Meateasy, who have taken over the small kitchen for the summer. From here, they turn
out juicy beef patties & skinny fries to an adoring crowd of followers & locals. On Monday evenings, a steady rotation of street food vendors provides wallet-friendly nosh. Capital has
introduced a couple of draught ales, which include their own craft-brewed beers, such as the golden, citrus-tinged Weasel or the dark, fruity Bonobo.
