The Riverside Brasserie isn’t the easiest place to find, but perseverance pays dividends. Located within Bray Marina, it may lack the Michelin-starred status of its big-hitting neighbours in the
village, but the ‘magical’ Thames-side location is a real trump card when the sun shines: tables on the large waterfront terrace are naturally at a premium, and convenient riverside moorings pull
in passing water-borne trade, too. The place itself – a no-frills, modern café-like building with an open-plan kitchen – delivers food that is equally straightforward and driven by top-drawer
ingredients. Upbeat brasserie classics such as potted rabbit with piccalilli or rib-eye steak with triple-cooked chips compete with lively, Med-inspired offerings including pumpkin tortellini with
sage butter or plaice with braised fennel, chorizo and saffron. Note the restricted winter opening times.
