What was The City Pipe, a renowned branch of the Davy’s chain, has been re-branded and re-cast as The Foster Project. Inside, you can still find a setting to suit most occasions at this capacious, versatile venue, but there has been plenty of movement and updating on the food front. Following the refit, the menu now sees eight variations on the burger theme in the limelight, with supporting roles for international favourites such as Alderton ham, egg and chips, pasta with wild mushrooms and cobnuts, ale-battered haddock and chips or salmon Caesar salad. Sandwiches and wraps please the snacking brigade, while the drinks list is replete with carefully sourced wines by the glass and carafe – plus ales and lagers from home and abroad.
