Sitting handsomely, smack in the middle of Addingham, the vine-covered Fleece has been a firm favourite with locals for decades and its appeal endures. You’ll find folk sitting at tables out front
most days, while the interior is all stone-flagged floors, wood-burning stoves and quiet corners, with a menu that reflects the seasons. Expect the likes of belly pork and black pudding with
poached pear salad or confit chicken leg with bubble and squeak, buttered kale and garden pea jus, followed by sticky toffee pudding with orange ice cream – ‘Yorkshire grub done proper’ is the
owners’ mantra, and everything is served in trencherman quantities. They are also proud to champion local beer, so look out for well-kept Mary Jane from the nearby Ilkley Brewery, along with an
impressive wine list including around 15 by the glass.
