Thumb's Blues. Inside, it’s small, compact and brimming with chatter, while Kevin’s quietly innovative cooking is driven by supplies of fresh fish, picked daily from Eddie’s Seafood Market next
door – expect anything from steamed mussels with Black Forest ham, shallots, garlic and fino sherry to roast monkfish with gnocchi, chorizo and bine tomatoes. But it isn’t all about the fish: meat
eaters and veggies are well served by the likes of roast pigeon breasts with sweet potato mash or aubergine, pear and caramelised walnut salad with toasted goats’ cheese. The home-baked soda bread
is unmissable, and you can BYO wine on Tuesdays (£3 corkage).
