This simply furnished café has won lots of fans since it opened a few years ago, with crowds of shoppers, yummy mummies and students dropping by to enjoy lunchtime treats ranging from hearty
chestnut, ricotta and sage filo pies or chorizo and potato tortillas to lighter salads (couscous with roasted Mediterranean vegetables, for example) – all prepared by a bevy of ladies in the open
kitchen that sits at the heart of this warm little space. Otherwise, customers can linger over home-baked cakes, properly brewed coffee or a glass of house wine, while gazing onto the backstreets
of historic Cambridge through the large picture windows that run along the front of the café. Stickybeaks also serves up straightforward breakfasts (croissants, bircher muesli etc) and opens from
time to time for pop-up supperclubs and cookery demonstrations.
