Handily placed for the welter of City workers who head out of the office for their workday lunch, Sri Thai City has most bases covered, thanks to its decent-sized menu of Thai staples. Head down to
the subtly classy basement, with its wood fittings, secluded booths and a menu of ‘reasonably priced’, authentic dishes: start off with an appetiser or two (perhaps sweetcorn cakes in tamarind
sauce or steamed minced-pork dumplings), before considering the usual suspects – soups, stir-fries, green, red and yellow curries, plus the odd foray into other parts of Asia, in the shape of
crispy wasabi prawns with mango dressing or Singapore noodles with king prawns. The venue still bustles, particularly at lunchtime, but reports of tedious waits need to be addressed.
