Modestly billed as an ‘experimental crêperie-cum-intimate cocktail speakeasy’, Shutterbug is an independent Shoreditch joint specialising in organic buckwheat pancakes of every description, with plenty of booze added to the mix. On the savoury side, expect fillings ranging from smoked salmon, egg and asparagus to pulled pork with cheese and pickles; on the sweet side, try salted caramel, Nutella and banana or honey, almond and mascarpone. The menu also runs to various omelettes, soups and salads, plus a full roster of breakfast and brunch possibilities (including croissants). Shutterbug is licensed until midnight for cocktails, wine and artisan beers, which can be drunk inside or out on the heated courtyard. It’s also geared up for takeaways.
