‘It may be a bit corny but it looks fabulous’ comments one devotee of this extravagantly decorated eatery over the road from the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The self-styled ‘show after the show’ is
done out like a theatre, with crushed-velvet drapes, chandeliers, operatic props & individually styled balcony boxes. Its riotously coloured camp exuberance impresses, but the Med/Turkish food
tends to fall flat: some find it ‘simple but tasty’, others reckon it’s ‘dismal’. But, as one visitor observes, Sarastro fits the bill if you’re ‘not looking for a culinary experience, just an
experience in general’. Live opera performances add to the fun.
