Elegant but comfortable, No 3 York Place has long been regarded as a Leeds culinary landmark. These days, it majors in modern British brasserie dishes ranging from starters of braised pig’s cheek
with roasted root vegetables to pan-fried terrine of foie gras served with black pudding, smoked bacon & sherry vinegar lentils. To follow, the kitchen might conjure up roast monkfish with
curried risotto, cucumber ‘spaghetti’ & vanilla dressing or a splendid dish of lamb cutlets served with its braised shoulder & a lasagne of sun-dried tomatoes, with desserts promising the
likes of hot ginger soufflé with lychee sorbet or an iced parfait of mixed berries. Service is from the top drawer, yet highly personable. The wine list holds plenty of interest & represents
good value for the quality on offer.
