Square Meal Review of Momo ?

A souk somewhere in the Middle East must have been stripped bare to fill this self-styled ‘Arabic den’ with rugs, lattice screens, exotic lanterns and a veritable desert caravan of ethnic paraphernalia. Welcome to Mourad Mazouz’s fun-loving homage to his homeland – a designer dream-world full of parading A-listers and bedouin wannabes. On the menu, there are favourites aplenty, from harira soup, flaky pigeon pastillas or baby aubergines with labneh, broad beans and lemon confit to de rigueur tagines served with top-notch couscous (we recommend the duck version with kale, turnips and orange zest). Momo’s grill also delivers ‘superb’ meats (merquez sausage, lamb cutlet, honey-roast quail and chicken kofta). If you’re hooked, you can take afternoon tea next door at little Mô (with its pleasant outdoor terrace); alternatively, hit the Kemia cocktail bar/music lounge downstairs.

This is then topped off with cosmopolitan finish making it unique from the many heavily souk styled Morrocan restaurants in the capital...

    sexdrugsandbaconrolls :: Momo

    We have always quiet fancied Momo in Heddon Street, a high end Moroccan restaurant that is owned by the people who created Sketch. This restaurant is tucked in a corner off a side street of Regent street and has trees covering the outside seating area which, had couples smoking shisha.

    As you push open the heavy wooden doors you have a sense that you are walking into a slower pace of life than the one outside bustling in Regent Street. The restaurant has a cream stone wall that looks almost like a cave with windows and doorways carved out. The seats have Arabic materials covering the stools and poofs and the cutlery and glasses are very elegant and in keeping with the theme...
