New restaurant, bar and nightclub Mode is the first dining destination to systematically change its style and theme every six months. It takes over the warehouse-style space previously occupied by
Supperclub on Acklam Road. Each of the venue’s phases - or ‘chapters’ as they’re calling them - is inspired by a specific concept that is referenced through the food, cocktails, music and décor, as
well as specially commissioned art installations: think Future Vintage, based on the industrial revolution. Mode is the brainchild of five entrepreneurs from the Notting Hill area, including Stevie
Thomas who helped launch Rum Kitchen and Ping. Head chef Andi Oliver has previously appeared on BBC cookery programmes and is putting together both individual and
sharing menus for each chapter, as well as a Sweetie Shop menu, offering grown-up treats such as G&T ice lollies, and chocolate-dipped marshmallows served with Prosecco.
