Having started his career in top-end Michelin-starred restaurants and hotels, Gordon Jones has opted to go down a more experimental route for his debut solo venture. Run in tandem with his
girlfriend, this intimate 20-cover venue is creating quite a buzz and is being touted as one of Bath’s hottest new eateries. The no-choice tasting menu (£40 for six courses) changes every day
depending on the market, and there are plenty of innovative ideas to tantalise local palates – from a ‘cappuccino’ of wild mushroom mousse with smoked milk foam to cream of sweetcorn sorbet with
peppered strawberry and wheatgrass juice. In between, there might be anything from an assiette of lamb with spinach, roast purple carrot, baby onion, cauliflower purée and enoki mushrooms to a
combo of turbot, haggis and green lentils. Accompanying wine flights are worth considering.
