Members of the Anand family have been kings of the hill in Southall for more than 30 years, with their original Madhu’s on South Road leading
the way. Now they have brought their special brand of Punjabi/Kenyan cooking to Heathrow with a luxe new opening in the Sheraton Skyline Hotel. Red banquettes, porthole mirrors and flashy table
settings create a highly distinctive feel, and the menu has its share of Madhu’s staples and regional classics – from pani puri, aloo tikka, samosas and others street-food appetisers to masala
fish, slow-cooked sag ghost and chicken biryani. The big attraction, however, is a centrepiece robata grill, which knocks out tikkas and chops as well as more innovative crossover ideas such as
scallops with asparagus, sesame and coriander dressing or chicken kebabs infused with mascarpone and cardamom. To finish don’t miss the mango kheer (Indian rice pudding).
