It’s a lounge and everyone loves it. End of! Ten years old and still going strong, this Shoreditch pioneer from the three guys at Les Trois Garçons next door attracts punters in droves, although
its longevity is as much down to its drinks as its style-mag decor – think the Artful Dodger meets Madame de Pompadour in some typically OTT Baz Luhrmann cinematic extravaganza. The cocktail list
is similarly baroque: restless romance (a vodka and saké sling) and chocolate mistress are fabulously flamboyant, although you shouldn’t overlook gooseberry (a Snow Queen vodka and raspberry flip)
or bit on the side (a rye and sherry fix). Sub-£20 wines and bottles of house Champagne work well with pick-and-mix plates – sliders, slaw, ceviche, charcuterie, pakoras and tempura prawns,
followed by doughnuts and truffles.
