Bringing cocktail culture to SE8, this pop-up in a back room of the local Bunker club has become a permanent fixture – to the delight of edgy locals who are intent on making Deptford the new
Dalston. Bare brickwork, recycled chic and kitsch culled from the owner’s 103-year-old late nan’s parlour set the scene, while la-di-dah gin cocktails come in vintage teacups or teapots (£14). Try
regal-sounding sips such as Lady Marmalade, The Princess Royal and The Queen’s sister (a Hendrick’s negroni that substitutes sherry for vermouth) or put your money on a Tequila, Mandarine Napoléon
and watermelon sour. Meanwhile, beer fans can grab bottles of Sol, Grolsch or £3 pints of draught lager with a Scotch egg. Cream teas with millionaire’s shortbread, table-top bric-à-brac sales, and
disco/cheesy pop anthems are all part of the fun.
