The Bayswater branch of this popular Taiwanese restaurant may not face such stiff competition as its two siblings in Soho, but it still works hard to please Queensway’s demanding ethnic community.
Low wooden booths separated by slatted screens create an intimate feel, while bamboo lampshades & decorative swords point up the oriental theme. Those unfamiliar with Taiwanese cuisine should
pick what appeals from the photographed dishes on the menu: start with siu loung bao (plump pork & crab dumplings cooked in a deeply savoury broth), before sampling braised pork belly or
quick-fried beef with garlic slices. For something different, try the ‘casket’, an elaborate construction of fried bread filled with minced chicken & vegetables in a thick sauce. Alternatively,
sample the full range by dropping in with a group of friends.
