institution. For more than 30 years, Lemonia’s feel-good, package-holiday deal has wooed locals with its leafy location, spot-on taverna food and ‘impeccable service’ from ebullient staff who seem
to have been spirited in from sunnier climes. Food-wise, the kitchen wheels out all the old favourites – from a line-up of traditional mezze dips to tender souvlaki skewers brimming with flavour,
keftedes, giant prawns, herby slow-cooked lamb, grilled Dover sole and much more besides. Greek-Cypriot tipples are top hits on the drinks list, so sit outside on the terrace, knock back Retsina or
shots of milky ouzo and dream about those Mamma Mia! good times.
Lemonia is a Greek family fun tavern situated in between Primrose Hill and Chalk Farm. This is not our usual hangout but we had been recommended this place by Greek friends. The restaurant is huge and split in two by a brick fireplace, wall and bar. It is light and airy and the large windows open out onto the front of the street in the summer and tables spill out onto the bustling paths...
