Hidden away on down-at-heel Dalry Road, just a five-minute walk from Haymarket, this instantly appealing family-run Neapolitan restaurant is beloved of the city’s huge Italian community and is
invariably packed to the gunnels with ex-pat families. The interior doesn’t make a great show, but it’s the food that counts – and the kitchen shows a particularly sure hand when it comes to
handling and cooking fish. Supplies arrive fresh each day, and the choice might range from perfectly prepared tuna and swordfish to spaghetti with clams, or a knock-out seafood platter. Quality is
the watchword, from top-drawer buffalo mozzarella and crispy, thin-crust pizzas to trattoria standbys such as minestrone, lasagne, bistecca pizzaiola and a textbook tiramisu. Dinner is good value
(especially the pre-theatre menu), but the three-course lunch for £9.95 is an even bigger bargain.
