As you might expect, polo is the theme at this unusual Indian restaurant housed in a converted manse in leafy grounds just off Maryhill Road: paintings of the sport and its players are festooned
around the wood-panelled ‘clubhouse’ and more formal dining room, with glass cabinets displaying polo shirts and trophies. The kitchen takes a broad view of things, offering a full contingent of
Moghul-style specialities and more contemporary ideas ranging from tikkas and tandooris to rich kormas, butter chicken and lamb mussalam with okra. It also tweaks its offer with ‘steak club’ grills
and ‘taste of the world’ specials (think spiced fish and chips, sizzling fajitas and a ‘tikka tikka club pizza’). There’s also a tasting menu featuring tapas-sized versions of many dishes at
knock-down prices. Sunday brunch is a good call, and the drinks list includes some unusual Scottish craft beers.
