Ever since a Manolo-clad Carrie Bradsaw first strolled around the West Village with one, they’ve been in huge demand. No, it’s not the latest ‘it’ bag; we’re talking cupcakes – pastel frosted,
sugary, wicked cupcakes. It was Hummingbird Bakery – then with just one wee shop on Portobello Road – that got the trend going in London, & it now has several branches dotted about the capital.

I finally made it over to my local cupcake bakery, Hummingbird, in London’s Notting Hill. Hummingbird is London’s answer to Magnolia bakery in NYC, who was essentially a pioneer in the cupcake craze many years back. I heard great things about Hummingbird so I was super excited to check it out...
