Part of a six-strong mini-chain with branches in London and beyond, this freshly minted Docklands rendezvous (formerly Bar 38) occupies a prime spot on Canary Wharf with two floors devoted to
drinking and eating, plus bags of alfresco space. Cocktails feature martinis, mojitos and assorted house favourites such as Docklands daiquiri (Mount Gay rum, mango, banana, gomme syrup and lime
juice finished with crushed pistachios), and there is plenty on offer when it comes to sub-£20 wines. Menus cover a lot of ground too, taking in mezze platters, salads, pastas, Brit classics and
signature dishes like blackened chicken breast with avocado salsa, as well as club sandwiches and sourdough baguettes. Breakfast, afternoon tea, a kid’s menu and Sunday roasts are part of the
package, and Henry’s is also well-equipped for corporate events, parties and private celebrations.
Housed in a converted warehouse overlooking West India Quay - an oasis of calm amid the high-rise chaos of nearby Canary Wharf - Henry's has a fantastic waterside location. Sadly, the current weather conditions meant that we were unable to take advantage of the expansive outdoor seating area, but I'm guessing this is incredibly popular in the Summer months...
