Square Meal Review of Fire & Stone ?

If you’re after a classic Italian pizza, you might be disappointed at Fire & Stone, as there are only five on the menu. What you get instead is a global selection of toppings, themed by continent & drawing inspiration from place names around the world. Will you go for the Casablanca with rosemary-infused mascarpone sauce, wild mushrooms, Roquefort & mozzarella topped with walnuts & parsley? Or the Koh Samui, boasting yellow curry sauce, roast sweet potato, Thai shallots, baby corn, chilli, basil & sesame seeds? It’s an original concept that has won many fans, who seldom have a bad word to say about the cooking. However, service is a recurring gripe & the cavernous dining room – dominated by a huge wood-fired oven – can get too noisy for some. A lively young crowd keeps the place busy, so it’s worth booking ahead to avoid the weekend queues.

    Rate My Bistro :: Fire and Stone – Covent Garden

    This is a pizza restaurant with a difference; it has the biggest range of pizzas that I have seen on a menu. They have pizzas named after places around the world and the names reflect the ingredients used on the pizza!

    The Byron Bay pizza had great flavours with its toppings of mixed mushrooms, garlic and rosemary roasted potatoes, basil pesto, mozzarella, caramelized onion jam and smoked paprika...
