The summer 2007 opening of Cliffhanger Cafe proved an instant hit with locals & tourists, playing to packed houses. And it’s easy to understand why. The purpose-built restaurant has terrific
sea views, plenty of outside seating & a menu with broad appeal, serving quick food for passing coast path walkers as well as offering serious dining, especially in the evening. Open at 8am for
breakfast (classic fry-ups or egg & bacon baps), the lunchtime menu includes salmon fishcakes, paninis or homemade burgers, plus healthy children’s meals for £4.50, as well as afternoon &
high teas. The regularly changing dinner menu could bring soused mackerel with soda bread & mixed leaves, then roast rump of lamb with apricot & sultana couscous & spiced jus, with
lemon curd cheesecake for dessert.
