cocktails from the bar, & a monthly menu of modern European food that caters for both robust & delicate constitutions. Trenchermen might tackle braised pig’s head with sauce gribiche,
before embarking on daube of ox cheek, while more modest appetites should be satisfied by a beetroot, walnut & goats’ curd salad, followed by steamed sea bass with scallop mousse & mussels.
Set menus help temper the cost, & the well-rounded wine list starts at £18.
Very easy to follow, this lists scores highly for navigation. It uses dividers to separate red, white, rosé and sparkling, with wines further split up by grape variety within the sections. Good, helpful tasting notes, beautiful typeface and there’s even a Quick List (with the wines simply listed by country) for those who don’t want to engage. Thoughtful and very inclusive.
Charlotte’s Place is an intimate 54 seat restaurant located on the corner of Ealing Common in a 150 year old house. Established by Charlotte Kearns and her husband the restaurant has been thriving in its peaceful location since July 2005. The venue is cosy, intimate, modern and elegant with a traditional British/European menu on offer and high quality seasonal ingredients.
