‘Bellissima!’ is still the cry as adoring fans continue to sing Cecconi’s praises to the skies. Yes, it’s a favoured haunt of swaggering Mayfair big spenders and the fashion set, but everyone is
welcome at this slick and effortlessly glitzy venue – and there are always plenty of star-spotting opportunities, whether you pitch up at the glamorous bar or the suave dining room with its
mirrors, marble floors, green leather banquettes and wraparound windows. The well-spread, all-day menu has some real crackers – especially in the pasta department (lobster spaghetti and crab
ravioli are regular standouts). Otherwise, work your way through a line-up that includes perky cicchetti snacks (soft-shell crab, aubergine parmigiana, chicken-liver crostini) and some terrifically
satisfying main courses including baked cod with porcini, veal milanese and halibut with braised fennel and salmoriglio. To finish, the vanilla cheesecake is guaranteed ‘to blow you away’.
Breakfast is a top call, too.
