Spread over two floors in the Westfield Shopping Centre, the third branch of Bumpkin puts on a modernist face, with some industrial-chic trappings, metal girders, bare tables and an open kitchen
with a striking tiled frontage. Like its siblings, it offers ‘the best of British’ in the form of rustic, seasonal dishes from our native ‘fields, shores, farms and gardens’. Artisan breads kick
off a menu that features mighty pies, sharing boards and hefty helpings of rabbit terrine with summer peas, grilled sole with lemon and caper sauce or slow-roast pork belly with caramelised apples,
followed by patriotic puds such as warm apple Charlotte. Impressive sourcing extends to the drinks list, with a fistful of English wines, Bumpkin’s own draught ale and zesty botanical cocktails
among the highlights. A big outdoor terrace is handy when the sun shines.
