Chelsea’s in-crowd has moved on, but there’s no denying the lifelong appeal of this ‘posh, but not intimidating’ Conran complex housed in a 1920s garage. Most of the action takes place on the huge
first floor, with its glass roof, bespoke steel chandeliers, oversized armchairs and neat Scandi designs. Perch at the shiny metal bar and pick at freshly assembled seafood platters, or take your
seat for well-rendered tuna sashimi, homemade ricotta with Tuscan coppa, spicy chicken burgers, curry-dusted scallops with a refreshing side of cauliflower and apple or burly duck breast with a
leg-meat croquette and cherry sauce. There are also steaks, game in season and whole turbot for two with béarnaise sauce. Downstairs, at street level, a younger crowd congregates around the café,
deli and busy courtyard, where TV screens show Wimbledon and F1.

The Conran complex is something of an institution of the King's Road and it's where the stars of MIC hang out both on and off screen. It was a sunny day and the glam Chelsea crowd were enjoying the courtyard and barbecue at the venue. Bluebird really is everything under one roof. It's a cafe, bar, food shop and restaurant and it's also ideal for private parties, be it a wedding or private dinner! ...
