When the Bacchus Pub & Kitchen closed in January 2014, that wasn’t quite the end of the story. Following a short break, the owners decided to resurrect their locally famous Sunday roasts and
have relocated to a permanent pop-up residency in the Hoxton Street Studios – a fabled music and design hub just down the road from their original venue. Decked out like a New York loft with high
ceilings, sleek white finishes and regularly changing art exhibitions to distract the eye, Bacchus Sundays is dedicated to chilling out, and feeds the faithful with honest roasts based on
sustainable, seasonal ingredients – slow-cooked meats infused with fresh herbs, crisped-up roast potatoes, proper gravy and all the ancillary trimmings. Staff have a reputation for slightly
bonkers, cheery merriment.
