Stevie Parle to open Dalston restaurant

stevie-parle.jpgStevie Parle, the chef behind Dock Kitchen in Ladbroke Grove and presenter of Channel 4’s Spice Trip has announced that he is to open a new restaurant in Dalston in March.

Details are sparse, but the restaurant will take the spot formerly occupied by Kingsland Curries on Kingsland Road, and it has been brought about in part by backing from the Rushmore Group’s Jonathan Downey, who is behind street-food organisation Street Feast, as well as cocktail bars including Milk & Honey, Danger of Death and Giant Robot.

Ruth Spivey, who created the recent Wine Car Boot events, will be in charge of wine at the venture, while it is expected that Downey will have be involved in the cocktails.

Prior to Dock Kitchen, Parle also worked at Moro, Petersham Nurseries and The River Café; he now lives in Hackney with his wife and two sons.
