Lucky Chip to open permanent slider restaurant

sliders pic_limited copyright_spring mag 2012 - sliders.jpgStreet-food sensation Lucky Chip, whose burgers (named after the Hollywood glitterati) have proved a hit both at Hackney’s Netil Market and nearby boozer The Sebright Arms, is opening a permanent restaurant, called Slider Bar, in Soho very soon.

Details are scarce, but owner Ben Denner told Square Meal what diners can expect. ‘We’ll have 12 burgers on the menu – some of the originals and a few new ones – and lots of other new dishes,’ he said. ‘We’re going to match our cocktails with the food, and serve some fun things, too, like floats.’

Popular specials such as the Tom Selleck will still grace the menu; will the new sliders (mini burgers) be named after stars of smaller stature?

‘We were thinking of using smaller actors’ names, but you’ll have to wait and see,’ grinned Denner. Well, it’s one way to cut the A-listers down to size: anyone up for a Tom Cruise?
