One of the most hotly-anticipated openings of late is the arrival of a third Barrafina in Covent Garden, which opens its doors today. Expect Barrafina’s trademark Spanish tapas with new ingredients for the menu such as rabbit (which seems to be having a moment, with fellow newcomer Paradise Garage also showcasing rabbit in Bethnal Green).
Barrafina Adelaide Street has just been named National Restaurant of the Year at the National Restaurant Awards 2015, so we’re pleased as punch that another outpost is joining its noble ranks.
Tapas are currently on-trend too, with The Little Taperia, José Pizarro, Lobos Meat & Tapas, Taberna Do Mercado and Social Wine & Tapas all opening in the past couple of months – Barrafina Drury Lane joins worthy competition to be on tapa the world (sorry).
In other news, Mr Pizarro told us that he has a restaurant named Isabel (after his mother) in the pipeline… Watch this space.
