Guide to Restaurant and Bar Reviews

Restaurant reviews

Restaurant reviews are based on the experiences of the Square Meal team of inspectors together with the opinions of thousands of readers, who are surveyed throughout the year. Restaurants do not pay for inclusion and the site is updated throughout the year. Square Meal has for the past 12 years been recognised as the eating out and corporate entertainment bible for London.

Reader Comment

' ' (Single inverted commas) indicate specific remarks made by Square Meal readers. Reader comment is otherwise absorbed into the review, as appropriate.

Price

The price quoted is an indicative cost of a single 2-course meal. This includes a starter, a main course, vegetables (if extra), coffee, cover charge, service & VAT, plus half a bottle of house wine. The aim is to give an indication of the amount you can expect to pay if eating from the à la carte dinner menu.

Wine

The price quoted is the price of a bottle of the house wine or cheapest.

Champagne

The price quoted is the price of a bottle of the house champagne or cheapest.

Opening Hours

Last orders rather than closing times are given. Where a restaurant has different opening hours to its bar, these are indicated by the letter 'R'.

Credit cards

Most restaurants accept all four major credit cards (American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard & Visa), but if American Express and Diners Club are your only cards it is always worth checking when you book. If no credit cards are accepted 'No CCs' is written at the end of the review.
