When's the best time to book a christmas party?

I've noticed a lot of christmas party emails doing the rounds this week. I appreciate organisers wanting to encourage companies to ‘get in early’ and there seems to be a few good incentives out there at the moment but would I not be better off holding out for a late deal in December?

It's like with holidays etc, you can gamble & hang on a bit longer if you're not fussed about where/when you go but if you've got something specific in mind & you want a good date it's best not to leave it too late. December (& even November) is definitely way too late!

You don't say how many people you're booking for. If it's more than 6 I'd get a provisional date in sooner rather than later. It can also be harder the longer you leave it to manage the diaries of your invited guests as their schedules will soon fill up for December!

For a big party I wouldn't leave it longer than September. If you're looking for a private chef's table get your booking in quick. You want to make sure the executive chef will be there on your choosen day.

Good luck!

I'm telling my clients “book now…please…”

Thanks guys! I think there's going to be about 30 of us so we're thinking of doing a shared night at a larger venue to get a bit more atmosphere. Quite a tricky group size, 30 – too big for many restaurant PDRs but not quite large enough for the nice big venues.
