birthday drinks

Hello! I am looking for a restaurant/bar in the west end for birthday drinks, the trouble is the birthday is next month and everywhere is doing all the Christmas packages and I don't fancy turkey! Anybody had a party somewhere recently that had good food and a good bar for afterwards? The Zuma/Roka set up is good but looking for something a little less pricey – thank you for any suggestions!

Hi Tomato! Not a greeting I ever thought I'd use…
A friend of mine had her birthday party in the House Basement at Soho House last week and we really liked it. Cosy interiors and good snack food (doubt they'll do the turkey thing there), though not Asian like Zuma or Roka.
Have you thought of somewhere Thai? The big tables at Busaba Eathai are great for groups. It's annoying that you can't book and there's no bar to wait in but the queue always seems to move quite quickly. How many of you are there? You can fit 12 around each table there. My top tip is to head for the Bloomsbury branch, which doesn't get nearly as busy as Wardour St. Also, make sure you order loads of dishes for the table to share. Then, move on to a nice pub – cheap & cheerful!
Hope you have a great birthday!

That's fantastic – thank you! I didnt realise you could hire soho house so I'll definitely look into that and I love Busaba, went there for the first time recently with some buddies and yum yum yum. There will probably be about 20 of us so beginning to think the nibbles and drinks would be the best option.

Thanks again for your help.
