Heston's price-hike

So I hear that Heston is putting his prices up, initially to £140, and then to £170 (and that's just for the food)… so once you factor in service, that's nearly an extra £100 per couple! Ok I'll admit that when I went to the fat duck it was pretty amazing, but it feels like he's cashing in, just when times are tough. And I thought he was one of the nice guys…

I think it's £130 for the tasting menu and + £65-£195 for the matching wines? Although I have no doubt the food is awesome I'd prefer to spend my money on food of my choice. Everyone I know who has been recently has said it's amazing. I don't think I'd personally go unless they reinstate the a la carte. I guess you have to take the Fat Duck as an experience rather than going out for dinner…the 12.5% service charge makes me think though!

What with that 2 month max booking ahead thing he does, I’ve never been able to book a table and have long since given up.. so all a bit academic what he does to his prices!
