Would anyone be able to recommend a quiet restaurant in the City (preferably EC2 or nearby) which I could book for a lunch? By quiet I mean somewhere where there isn't lots of background noise so that the diners can hear each other easily.

Coq d'Argent at the end of Cheapside is lovely if a bit pricey, and it also comes with potentially (weather dependent) some great views!
