What is the most important factor when booking a venue for a Christmas party?

Event review: Brooklyn Bowl launch party

A gaggle of celebs joined us in giving their best Big Lebowski impressions at the London branch opening.

We’ve heard a lot about the American mini chain Brooklyn Bowl and its legendary music gigs over the last few years (Snoop Dogg and Guns N’ Roses, anyone?). So we were super excited to check out its third site, this time located on home turf.

As we enter The O2, we’re greeted by hundreds of basketball fans. Turns out the Brooklyn Nets are playing the Atlanta Hawks in the arena, a game that’s later screened live during our party.

With the event in full swing, we explore the 800-capacity space, from the restaurant and main gig space – where the Brooklyn Bowl All-star Players, a collective of funk and soul musicians, are performing – through to the bowling alley.

Three of the 12 lanes are in an elevated private area, where we spot the likes of Cara Delevingne, Kelly Brook, Clara Paget and Ellie Goulding, plus various members of the cast of Made in Chelsea having a go.

Best bit: the abundance of Blue Ribbon fried chicken. Guests also gorged on an all-American feast of Oyster Po’ Boy sandwiches, BBQ ribs and calamari while sipping margarita cocktails and local beer from the Meantime Brewing Company.
